a smashed playground

2002-10-13 22:29 p.m.

patrick came back from bali today and thank god he's back!

i went to the airport in the morning to welcome him back, not knowing what had happened the night before.

he told me there was a bombing and it didn't register as anything major till i heard, seen and read the news about the death toll, the horrors and the charred bodies.

it was a gruesome sight.

and to think he was so near...

we were all shocked by this act of plain evil. this could have happened to any of our friends or loved ones.

i don't know what circumstances have forced these people to take such drastic measures to make a statement, or why they have to kill the innocent to voice their unhappiness.

there must be something deeper than a need to convert people.

the cynic side of me just takes this as a population control tool to keep the population in check.

the curious side of me would love to get into these people's minds to know the reason behind all the madness.

of course, the blaming game has started i'm sure, everyone pointing fingers at everyone.

i do think that everyone is to blame.

ever heard of the ripple effect?

i believe that everything we do will somehow afffect people whom who do not even know.

when we are nice to a person, he/she will divide a portion of that to people he/she meets. likewise if we're nasty. so it will make sense if we are all nicer to people, even people we don't know.

make an effort to be polite or smile.

you'll never know how strong the ripple effect can be.
