a hairy issue

2002-11-04 3:59 p.m.

i finally got my haircut and color!

it was an ordeal and i survived!!!

lessons learnt:

- men are more gentle with women's hair.

- always give your stylist the thumbs up even if you think she has absolutely no idea what to do with your hair.

- styling products are invented for a reason.

the entire hair session lasted two days at the toni and guy education.

the first was coloring my precious mane which badly needs some tlc.

color was chosen and there's no turning back.

one could only wish for the best and hope the colours turn out fine.

i was chosen by a filipino lady in her late thirties or so to be her model for the day.

her hesitation and confusion in the beginning really made me nervous as hell as i kept swearing i'll go to a real stylist the next time.

they just kept repeating "6,9,6"

i pray they're not from a cult.

it turned out alright.

in fact, it seems to be the most outstanding among the others and everyone kept oohing and aahing.

i have no fuckin' idea but i'm happy.

today's the haircut and i got the same lady who was majorly checking out my hair and the famous 696 were uttered again.

i swear she should never shampoo anyone's hair ever.

my poor scalp tried to resist all that tugging and pulling.

it's still pretty sore now...

the cut went pretty alright considering she seemed to have gotten it wrong the first time.

it's sweet to see her smile at the end of it when we took pictures and she told me to look sexy.

i tried not to burst out into hysterical laughter.

it's really tough to take a proper picture when someone is telling you to look sexy.

gee, should i pout my sexy lips or reveal a shoulder without looking like a hooker?!

considering all that hair tugging, the results are quite satisfactory.

i counted 3 blokes checking me out today.

the first guy was on a bicycle and he turned back to look. thank goodness he didn't knock into anything.

oh the wonders of a cut, highlights and styling products...

then again, i personally prefered my old hairstyle. there is a small difference.

oh well, i think i'll go for a cut again before the lunar new year and depending on how loaded i am at that time, maybe i'll head down to a proper stylist.
